Holiday hampers ready for pickup.

Holiday hampers is a long-standing tradition at Langara that offers departments across campus the opportunity to support a Langara College student-family.

Typically hampers for our students and their children are assembled in decorated boxes or plastic bins, filled with wrapped toys, books, gift cards and other items identified by the families.

Holiday Hampers 2020

In spite of our virtual world, 22 departments across campus came together to raise funds and build personalized hampers for students with families. These departments alone raised an incredible $11,477.42. This, combined with other fundraising efforts brought us to a total of $49,950 raised and distributed to 215 students. This includes personalized hampers for 22 students with children. These hampers were carefully put together by our departments based on the student’s wishlist and included toys, clothing, electronics and household items.

Students were able to pick up their hampers along with a few perishable food items and desserts donated by Nanak Foods as well as curated boxes built by the Langara Students’ Union. ACML Western Management, Vanity Lab, RBC, Weissach, Vancity, VWR, Daniel Chocolates, and other individuals also contributed to making these hampers truly special for the students. With the help of our donors and our amazing departments, our 2020 hamper distribution was our biggest yet.

Thank you for making difference and inspiring our students within our community to continue achieving success!
